This position is great for anyone who likes to interact with others and ensure that everyone leaves and returns satisfied. Not only will you help yourself in building new skills, knowledge and interests, but also help individuals and the community at large.
Store Assistant
Store Assistants play a significant role in ensuring the ReStore meets customer demands. This position can entail anything from preparing materials for display, merchandise repairs or store housekeeping.
Drivers and Warehouse Personnel
The ReStore would be empty without the strong efforts of our drivers and watrehouse personnel. People in this role are responsible for assisting in the pick-up and deliveries of ReStore items, as well as loading and unloading materials from the ReStore, homes and vehicles. But volunteer with caution - this involves everyday bending, moving and heavy lifting.

Have you met Laurel?
Laurel is one of our volunteers at the new Muskoka North ReStore in Huntsville who will be working closely with Emma in preparing the schedule for fellow volunteers. After retiring from her job and passing on the torch in 2009 from her 20 years of volunteer service with Girl Guides, Laurel has looked forward to becoming involved in something that suits her lifestyle.
"My disability limits me in being able to secure a job, but this position at the ReStore is something I have the time for and is something I am physically capable of doing - and of course, it's all for a good cause," she says, just a week before the store opens to the public. "I have the option of working from home, and may even get to do some store work on the floor, but at this stage, that is still to be worked out."
Laurel says one of the most enjoyable parts of the training process thus far has been meeting new people, and she has taken great interest in learning new information on how the ReStore works behind the scenes, and how to fulfill certain tasks. In her spare time, Laurel enjoys being outdoors, curling up with a good book, and cooking up a storm in the kitchen. She is also known for devoting her time to Fairven Nursing home in Huntsville, on the Muskoka River between Fairy Lake and Lake Vernon.
